Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I own a 1994 ford ranger with the 4.0l v6 engine. for the last few months i have not been able to fill my gas tank safely. if i fill the tank completely gasoline spills from the place where the tank meets the inlet tube. the inlet tube, which should be engineered to handle gasoline, is cracked due to insufficient construction. this defect is a danger to ranger owners due to the leaking of flammable gasoline. the price for a replacement tube from the dealer is astronomical. the dealership told me that they get a lot of rangers in with that exact problem. i spoke to ford on the phone, and they basically told me, too bad. this defect seems to be evident in years 93-94. i have spoken to many other ranger owners and they have expressed that the same defect exists in their trucks. it is only a matter of time before injury or death is experienced.*ak |
