| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Dt: consumer has an evenflo comfort touch car seat, model number 3591328p1, date of manufacturer april 13, 2004 that has been owned by the consumer for less than a year. when retrieving the car seat from the car for travel by airplane, the styrofoam from under the base had a straight line across the base that was cracked and styrofoam was coming out from the car seat itself. the child safety seat had not been in any accident or had any previous trauma. no previous problems with the child safety seat. the child can pull the fabric padding and the styrofoam from the base of the car seat and put it in his/her mouth. this padding is held by two hooks, one at the base and one at the back. the consumer did have to pack this with duct tape due to the fact this was discovered when the consumer was taking the child safety seat for an airline departure and it was a last minute discovery. the only reason the consumer purchased the seat was because consumer reports identified this as one of the safest models available. consumer has not contacted manufacturer at this time but plans to. *jb |
