Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: The "2005 gmc canyon" pick-up and similar vehicles made by this manufacturer lack keyed access locks on the passenger-side doors. in the event of an emergency, because there is no practical way to readily access the vehicle from the passenger-side, there is the potential that the vehicle owner or passengers would be exposed to undue harm. it is taken for granted by most consumers that vehicles come with keyed access on the passenger-side, but nowhere in the manufacturers literature does it mention that there are no outside locks on the passenger-side of these vehicles. if a consumer were to purchase the vehicle with power locks, this wouldn't be an issue, unless there was a power failure to the vehicle, but vehicles sold that do not come with the power door lock feature, do not come with outside door locks on the passenger-side of the vehicle. i feel that the manufacturer should retrofit these vehicles with outside door locks. *jb
