Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: An intermittent problem has been exhibited twice in the 200+ miles that the car has been driven since we took delivery. the following is a description of what happens. this happened both times while traveling at nominal speeds, about 30 mph and starting to apply the brakes to stop the vehicle. upon applying the brakes, they felt very spongy and did not stop the car. simultaneously the engine rpm increased which further prevented stopping of the car. (for a time it seemed as though the engine was working against the brakes.) when the brakes were depressed harder this continued. finally, after 5 seconds or so of this very scary and unusual feeling the engine rpm dropped and the brakes started working normally and the vehicle was able to be stopped. fortunately, both times the stopping was not in a critical situation, and no accident resulted. as a result of this intermittent dangerous problem, we can no longer drive the car and feel safe. therefore, we brought it to the dealer, competition infiniti, smithtown, ny, and they are investigating the problem. *nm |
