Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Dt: there was a leak in the fuel rail,, and while driving there was a fire in the engine compartment. there was a recall on this issue. the consumer was never notified about the recall. the recall information was found through a chrysler website, and consumer put in the last eight digits of the vin and they were included in the recall. the consumer's son contacted chrysler thirty times , and they advised the consumer to take the car to a dealer for repairs. the dealer confirmed there was fuel rail leak, and a new fuel rail would have to be installed, along with other wiring that was melted as a result. the consumer's son had an issue with the chrysler dealership, and wished to take vehicle away from chrysler dealership because he felt they were doing nothing about the problem. chrysler agreed to fix the recall but first they wanted to investigate further. there was minor damage as the consumer smelled something odd and pulled over. upon further investigation, the hood was raised. and a small fire came from the fuel rail. a bystander put out the fire with his hand, and the consumer drove the vehicle home about a mile down the road. *ak |
