Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The "clock spring" (part of the air bag system), has failed twice in 46,000 miles. the vehicle has never been in any type of accident, or sustained any type of damage (ie, water related damage). the first failure was repaired under warranty, the second repair the dealer charged for. as this is a safety function, and the occupants are exposed to risk during failure, i believe two failures in 46,000 miles is unacceptable and is a design or manufacturing defect. i request that the nhtsa initiate an investigation, and if this defect is prevalent, issue a recall notice. *jb |
