Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: The right side catalytic converter split at the neck. while the local mercedes benz dealer freely admits that this is a common problem on this class of car and that there is a recall on this very problem, they tell me that my vin number is not covered and if i want to avoid the problems associated with a leaking exhaust system, i must replace it myself. this is obviously a much wider problem than mercedes benz is willing to admit to. *jb
