Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I bought the britax roundabout on a recommendation of more than one mommy friend. i tried it in my car, with my infant in it, and liked it and so did she. bought it. had it installed by local police station. the officer said he didn't like how there was too much room between the belly and the belt and also how the belt came out at her upper thighs instead of her hips. he said it wasn't safe. when i called britax to remedy the situation, they told me that their car seats were made for the 50th percentile on weight and height and that i should have tried the seat in the car and with her (i did!). my infant is the 90th percentile height and 75th or so weight(6 mos @17 lbs and @27 inches in height). they told me that there was nothing that they could do. that is how their car seats are manufactured. i bought britax because they are the top of the line, safest car seat. but how are they safe except for the 50th percentile? they should say somewhere that they are made for the 50th percentile so others with tall babies don't have this problem! also, it says my seat was manufactured in 2005 but there was no choice for that and also it didn't break or anything-yet-i just said it was unsafe, but there wasn't a choice for that. *jb |
