Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Pulled up to gas station, vehicle caught on fire, under hood, on drivers side, possibly due to fuel lines, laying on top of exhaust air check valve on drivers side. air check valve possibly burnt fuel lines and caught fire, hood area burnt for about two minutes, and caused the following damage. the hood vent, cowl. burnt four spark plug wires, and damaged clips securing them, burnt the majority of the under hood portion of the fuel lines. melted the rack and pinion steering drivers side boot and steering gear cover. it also melted wires related to the coolant sender, and air pump connectors. also the top of the exhaust manifold covering was melted, but didn't have any effect on the engine. i have so far repaired the following things related to the engine, in order to drive it; fuel lines, and spark plug wires. *jb |
