Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Gm recall; 05068 states "certain ...vehicles may experience unwanted anti-lock brake system activation. this condition to more likely occur in environmentally corrosive areas. this recall will be launched in the "salt belt" states of..." and excludes mn and wi. this is due to fewer complaints. this is irrelevant since the safety consequence is"this can cause increased stopping distance during low-speed braking applications, which could result in crash." the root cause seems to be salt corrosion and that should determine the location, not "complaints, accidents or fatalities" as i was informed by my call to gm. i have not been given a valid reason why i am safe from this issue because i live in minnesota and use more salt than 50% of the other states on the list. |
