| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I was traveling on interstate 80 in the fairfield, california area. my speed was approximately 65 mph. the left rear tire suffered a major tread separation which was very violent. i was able to keep the vehicle under control i believe due to my 24 years of police driving experience. my vehicle is a 2000 ford f250 superduty pick up truck. i have firestone steeltex a/t tires on the vehicle. i am the original owner and the vehicle has approximately 47,000 miles. i did not receive any safety or recall information in regard to the tires from ford or firestone. due to the seriousness of the event i feel very lucky not to have been involved in a major crash. *jb |
