Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: One day while driving down a busy 3 lane highway my honda would not go forward any more. no matter how hard i pressed the gas it would no longer accelerate. i could put the car in neutral or reverse, but in drive i could not get it to go above 10 mph. i immediately recognized that it was the transmission and took it to a transmission place who told me honda has an extended warranty for 98-2000 accords under 100,000 miles, and they will replace your transmission. since my car only had 80,000 miles, i called the service station, made an appointment and told them that it was the transmission. they told me okay, but there would be a $95 fee if it wasn't the transmission. they called me later that day, and said my vin# didn't match the recall, so sorry. i called american honda, and they said i should not have been given that information, and there was nothing they could do. i stated so what you are telling me is that in 98,99 & 00, you put bad transmissions in your accords, i have a bad transmission in my accord, but i'm not covered??? to which they replied yes. *jb
