Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Designer 22, se, lx infant car seat made by durel juvenile this carseat has a defective adjustment bracket allowing the shoulder belt to completely come off of the child. in our case, our nine month old was able to turn around and stand up in his car seat while we were traveling down a busy highway at 75 miles per hour. luckily, he was not hurt. thinking that it was something i may have assembled wrong, we kept using the car seat until it happened again. we then contacted the manufacturer. they stated that they would send a repair kit (so obviously they are aware of the problem) but the carseat has not been recalled (although other models have been for similar problems). i am very upset knowing that my child could have been seriously injured or killed, all the while the manufacturer is well aware of this problem but has not notified consumers who have purchased this seat. we have used the seat for nine months before the defect was defected which means our child was not safely restrained during that time. we feel something should be done to force the manufacturer to notify the public of this problem before an infant is hurt or killed.*jb
