Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The 17-inch chrome rims will not maintain a bead or hold air pressure more than a few days. this vehicle is currently on the 3rd set of tires in 80k miles. due to the constant state of low pressure in the tires, i have experienced premature tire wear on the factory installed tires and the replacement eagle ls tires. the last set of tires had been remounted multiple times with bead sealant from several tire installers and a chrysler service center. proof in the inability of the tire to maintain a bead-seal existed when the vehicle was driven out of my driveway, and during a left-hand turn to enter the roadway, the tire slipped from the rim completely and partially dismounted from the rim, resulting in the rim damaging the tire beyond repair. this incident occurred during a low-speed turn (5-mph) on a tire that was not visibly flat. the air pressure in tires mounted on these rims must be checked almost daily in order to ensure reasonably safe driveablity of the vehicle. *nm |
