| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Recently had a failure of the gas tank venting system in our 2001 chrysler 300m. according to the dealer the vent lines used on the vehicle are not compatible with gasoline (essentially vacuum lines) and both were significantly eroded. the dealer informed me that they have seen this on chrysler vehicles with as little as 15,000 miles on them and that they do not use fuel line in the repair but simply replace with the original material. regardless, the repair was not covered under warranty as the hoses are considered a wear item. the dealer disposed of the original lines so i was unable to inspect the level of degradation but they said that one hose was leaking. *jb |
