Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Car: gmc envoy 2003 when driving on a highway check engine light came on. "reduced power" light came on too. engine rpms dropped down to 1100. barely avoided crash. *jb made it to the parking lot. restarted engine few times same problem. executed "clear change oil light" procedure few times. it cleared "check engine" light and everything is normal now. the vehicle is equipped with "change oil" timer and light. it appears that when timer expired the computer rather than turning "change oil" light on enables "check engine" light and drastically reduces engine power. when it happens on a highway it can easily lead to a crash. i plan to take the vehicle to a dealership in two days. thank you.
