| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Stopping to run an errand on the way home from work i attempted to open the driver door of my 2000 gmc pickup. the door which has a power lock would not open. the electric door lock has apparently failed rendering the door inoperative. after a short panic attack, i had to exit my vehicle from the passenger door. the door could not be unlocked from the outside with a key or from inside the vehicle using the manual door lock slider bar. this is a severe safety hazard and should demand an immediate recall to ensure a failure of the power lock fails safe. as a safety engineer, i believe this could result in a fatality by someone not being able to exit the vehicle. *nm |
