Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I have a 1999 chevy tahoe. there have been a few instances when i have applied the brakes at low speeds; the brakes lock causing the truck to skip and skid. this is terrifying, as i do not know when the truck will stop. sometimes the skip and skid will go for 10-15 feet before finally stopping. twice i have almost hit another vehicle. a third time i had to drive off the road to avoid a collision because the truck would not stop. there is a current recall issued by nhtsa #05v379000 but does not extend to california. i reside in northern california. this vehicle is used in the snow/sleet/rain. the condition (summary of recall) is in occurring in my vehicle here in northern california and should be considered in the recall. this is a very dangerous occurrence with the brakes that could result in a motor vehicle accident. *jb |
