| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Please disregard my original submission, as i misidentified the seat as a graco instead of an evenflo. i am a certified child passenger safety technician and have been one for about 5 years. i recently inspected a evenflo portabout infant seat (model # 5691250 p1 / manufacturer date aug 18,2003) and discovered a potentially fatal flaw in the attachment mechanism of the carrier. the attachment point on the red carrier release handle has the tip broken off, thus preventing the seat from securely attaching to the base. i do not know if the damage was caused by misuse, abuse or a manufacturing flaw. i am currently holding onto the seat and have advised the seat owner to purchase a new seat. she was provided with a new seat to use temporarily until a replacement is obtained. digital photos are available of the broken part for review. *jb |
