Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: My 2003 monaco cayman motorhome with bosch brakes has had a complete brake failure. all four wheels have overheated and the repair bill will be over $4,000. it is still within the warranty, but monaco refuses to take responsibility. there was a recall under nhtsa campaign number 02v2278000 for this exact problem. monaco claims my motorhome does not fall under this recall. the vin number for my motorhome is: [xxx]. we did have a problem with the abs light coming on in july. when that was repaired the service people did not notice any extreme wear on our brakes. it seems strange to me that i would have the same problem as the aforementioned recall. we have driven our motorhome 29,000 miles to various states in the northeast and also to colorado. one would think that the vehicle would be designed for travel of this type. it is supposed to be a "recreational vehicle". *nm updated 07/17/2012 *js information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) |
