| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Accelerator sticking. from standing start, accelerators pedal requires considerable pressure to move from resting position. as pedal is depressed, vehicle jumps forward before operator can remove pressure. complaints to dealer resulted in the estimate of a $100.00 charge to clean carbon from throttle body and apply a chemical treatment to help prevent further sticking. this should not be a maintenance item as it could result in uncontrolled acceleration, possible loss of control, and accident. dealer diagnosis was almost instantaneous so the problem must be a common one.*nm |
