| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The parking brake on our 2002 yukon does not hold once the rear brakes have warmed up. when the vehicle is allowed to sit for a few hours and the brakes cool, the parking brake holds. since new, the parking brake pedal has gone all the way to the floor, and the dealer told me this is normal. i've complained to the dealer about this problem in the past when i took it for state inspection, and i was told it was a minor adjustment problem and it had been fixed. since the car was cold when i picked it up, the parking brake did work fine. i didn't realize until last summer that the parking brake doesn't hold once the rotor assembly is warmed up. clearly, this is a dangerous situation if parked on a steep incline. the dealer has told me not to worry because they say the vehicle is safe when in park. i disagree. *jb |
