Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2004 dodge 1500 quad cab 22k miles. rear passenger axle end broke off causing no control of vehicle, thus the truck spins into a sign and damaged the passenger rear bed. police report says that it looked like a manufacture defect of the axle. we went on line that night and found several cases they same. i contacted chrysler and they had an investigator come and look. after approx 5 weeks i got a letter back that says the axel broke due to impact and they were not going to pay for anything. just type in dodge axles broke and the internet has a lot of the same failures recorded by other dodge owners. this is not right someone can be killed with this fault. the wheel and brakes all just break off leaving no control. *jb |
