Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I own a 1999 isuzu vehicross with 107,000 miles on it. it has never given trouble until now. i have always been meticulous about oil changes every 3,000 miles if not sooner. i had an complete oil change 2 weeks ago. yesterday saw oil light flickering and added 2 qts oil immediately. drove a couple blocks and saw oil light flickering again. pulled into garage and they said "bone dry"! added 3.5 qts oil right then. drove less than 1 mile onto expressway entry ramp- car stopped dead right there! - i could easily have been killed by semi bearing down behind me at 55 mph. luckily i escaped with my life but it could have happened anywhere: on the expressway for example and i would today be dead. cause: seized engine from lack of oil. two weeks after an oil change and only an hour after 5.5 qts oil had been added: bone dry again. i'm told this is a common problem for isuzu owners and that the company does not stand behind what they make. i told isuzu about this problem but they refuse to assist me. cost of new engine to me: $5,500! i have loan on this car for $6,600 already and cannot afford to put in a new engine. the consumer is again left strapped to deal with this fault manufacturing. this needs to be a safety recall. *nm
