Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: How and when discovered = customer posted product safety compliant/review which prompted us to file a reportable incident: not safe!!!!, december 18, 2005; (florida) - my husband and i saw this system, and loved it. we received it as a registry gift, and at first glance it looks strong, and safe. however this car seat uses a new, very narrow base for the car, and it moves way too much!!! we initially installed it using the seat belt, then the latch belt but nothing helped. we took it to the fire station and they confirmed it was installed correctly, and no matter what we did it would still move significantly, and after each use the latch belt would loosen. i tried the car seat with out the base, but the bottom is too curved and it does not stay in place. it actually fell on its side when i turned a corner with my 4 week old son in it. i called babies r us and spoke with the area supervisor who advised me of the multiple complaints they received on this issue, and she indicated she was surprised the base and car seat had not yet been recalled. we immediately returned the system, and exchanged it for a another manufacturer. though this is a beautiful stroller, and the fabric is pretty decent, it is not worth sacrificing the safety of my child!! *nm |
