Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Transmission stuck in neutral four times within the first six months. it happens when you are going slow and you shift into 1st gear and don't let the clutch out and you try to bring it back into 2nd gear. the 3 times it did this in parking lots it was not a scary problem but when it did this at a busy intersection i almost got rear ended. at first ford could not make it stick while testing and didn't know why it was doing this. now they are saying when it does stick you either have to come to a dead stop( which i figured out myself) or double clutch it. i haven't double clutched a car since way back in the 60s. they say it has to do with the sensors not working at slow speeds. and they say there is no repair because it is a normal operating characteristic of this transmission. by the way this is the 2nd transmission put in this car. i hope you can help other people with this info before someone has a serious wreck. thanks. *jb |
