Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Dt*: the contact stated while driving on normal road conditions the vehicle presented vibrations when the brakes were applied. the kia dealership did not have a service center on its premises and the contact was referred to a different manufacturer service center. the brake rotors were resurfaced, but the vibration continued. as a result, the dealership referred the contact to a different service center were the brake rotors were resurfaced again. the vibration persisted. a consumer protection agency was alerted and required the local service dealer to resurface the brake rotors on three additional occasions. this still did not remedy the problem. the vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop who determined the rotors were fractured and needed to be replaced. the vehicle continues to be driven in its current condition, but away from open roads in order to reduce the accident risk presented by the defective rotors. updated 9/15/2006 - *nm |
