Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Stator failure @ 25,000 miles. took bike to dealer for warranty repair. dealer refused to honor my extended warranty citing aftermarket headlights as the cause for stator failure. i have 23 other individuals in my group with cbr 1000rrs who have had their stator fail, some bikes having gone through as many as 6 stators. many of these bikes have the same type of aftermarket headlight system as myself, and they have had no trouble with dealer honoring warranty. i replaced the failed stator with a new oem honda part. after 10,000 miles on the replacement stator, my charging system is starting to show a steady drop in system voltage, and i believe this stator to now be failing as well. *jb |
