Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 1993 plymouth voyager brakes engaged while accelerating causing brakes to burn and get really hot. upon inspection mechanic determined the master brake cylinder needed to be replaced. *kb the consumer independent mechanic could not get a replacement master cylinder because the part had been recalled. the consumer could only have the replacement made at the dealer. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the technician there said the recall was on the pressure piston not the master cylinder. any part damaged by the recalled part was the responsibility of the consumer. the dealer replaced the boost pressure transducer and actuator. they also replaced some recalled parts. when the vehicle was returned to the consumer she noticed that the vehicle mpg was reduced and that the brakes felt different. the vehicle was returned to the dealer several times for brake problems. eventually the dealer replaced the master cylinder and everything was fine for a while. the brakes light illuminated an the consumer had to apply excessive for to tthe brake pedal to get the vehicle to stop. to avoid the hassel withthe dealer the consuerm purchased another vehicle. *nm |
