Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I own a 2000 honda accord se and the srs indicator illuminated causing me to take into my honda mechanic. he ran a diagnostic and discovered a temporary code 09-03 indicates a malfunction in the drivers seat belt switch. this cost me $75. he scanned the engine computer for stored codes and retrieved the temporary code 09-03 occurred 14 times over 157 key cycles. felt problem was very intermittent and reset should last a while or never return. not more than a few days later, the srs illuminated. called mechanic and he said to bring the car in and we will reset; no charge. this back-and-forth continued for a while until it just became completely inconvenient and had to consider how to fix. options were to: 1) replace the seat belt buckle on an educated guess with no guarantee this will solve the problem. cost: $250. 2) continue the test procedures they have and remove seat and disassembling the seat cover to inspect the seat belt wiring, again with no guarantee. cost: $225. i have not selected either option as i feel it is a honda defect and should be covered by them. *jb |
