| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I have a 2000 dodge ram 1500 pickup that i drove off the dealer lot new in january 2000. the dash began to crack, then the cracks developed into holes. chunks and shards of plastic have fallen down into the dash. the cracks extend down to the passenger side airbag which has now been turned off due to the risk of flying plastic missiles if the airbag is deployed. this was not due to excessive sun since the truck has been parked in shady areas for most of the time i've owned it. nothing has ever been allowed to be placed on the dash to cause any kind of stress damage. this truck was assembled in mexico according to the tag inside the door. i am concerned about the safety issue involved with the sharp, brittle plastic and the fact that this is clearly a result of poor quality plastic. thank you. *tr |
