Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Gm passlock (anti-theft) feature malfunctions while starting a warm engine. engine almost never fails to start when either the engine is hot or the engine is cold. recently, i have had to abandon a 2000 malibu on two occasions for failure to start after multiple "10 minute waits" and come back the next day to start the car. failure of the engine to start could result in injuries or death depending on the situation and location. consider an elderly person that has to abandon their vehicle on the side of a rural road at night and have to walk a long distance in extremely cold weather. *jb |
