Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I have a 2002 mitsubishi montero with 43,000 miles and the abs control module all of a sudden went out. there was no problem. just backed up on january 1, 2006, and noticed the light was on. i looked in the owner's manual about the problem and did what it said. but the light remained on. i took it took a local tire and brake company, but they couldn't get the light to go off. then, took it to a dealership, and they told me the abs control module had gone out. the cost of this part was $900. the service manager at the dealership told me to contact mitsubishi because he has never seen this problem happen before. i did, and they told me that there was nothing they could do since the 36,000 mile warranty expired. i think this sucks because it is apparent that this part must have been defective since it was one that no one could tell me that they had complaints about it. i will tell you one thing this is the only mitsubishi product i will ever own.*ak
