Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: (1) the engine shut off while i was driving, it restarted okay. i called an ase certified technician and he advised me of an ignition recall with that symptom. i took it to a honda dealer to have it repaired , and a different recall repair was performed, but i was lead to believe my problem was fixed. (2) the symptom of shutting off while driving continued and happened more often. it occurred 3 to 5 times a week. it also became hard to restart. several times it shut off while entering the freeway and also while driving in the fast lane. (3) i returned to the honda dealer and was advised there is nhtsa recall 05v025000 and honda #s p69 & p69, but this vehicle was not included in the recall due to vin. i called honda's (800) 999-1009 to see i they would cover my car under the recall, and i was told no, but it would be documented. i new it had to be repaired and i used to be an ase certified technician, so i purchased the part and replaced it myself. at the parts counter the asked if i wanted the recall ignition switch. i paid $54.55 for the part and it took 1 hour to install, and the old part is available.*ak |
