| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle's abs engaged at speeds of 5mph or less resulting in increased stopping distance. the contact discovered a recall 05v379000 concerning the anti-lock brakes online. the contact took the vehicle to a local dealer for inspection, but was informed the vin was not included in the recall even though the vehicle is currently in a "salt belt state." furthermore, the dealer refused to inspect or repair the vehicle and allow the contact to request reimbursement if the vin became included in the recall. the manufacturer was alerted and referred the contact to another dealership in the area for inspection on monday. additionally, the contact was concerned the recall remedy would only provide a temporary remedy to the braking problem and should be broadened to included the replacement of parts rather than simply cleaning and adding rust inhibitor. |
