| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Grago snugride infant car seat/carrier model # 8465bkw2 manufactured in 071005 purchased in 09/05. there is large plastic spike on the plastic portion of the seat that touches the infant's back. it is under a cover, so it was not noticed until an indentation was seen in the infant's skin. the infant is 4 months old now and over the past several months has cried hysterically every time he was put in the seat, especially when the restraint was tightened (this would have forced the spike into his back) to the point that we started to avoid car travel. i only noticed the problem yesterday after transporting the infant to daycare for the first time. he was wearing a jacket that rode up and as i lifted him from the carrier exposing his back and a large red indent was visible on his lower back. a week ago i noticed a red mark on his back with a hole in the center that at the time i figured was a bug bite. the injuries to the child's back were probably not noticed earlier because he usually wears onesies that do not ride up when he is lifted up. clearly the pain and suffering of riding in the seat was horrible for the infant who now fusses just looking at the seat and we must keep it from his view. i reported this issue to graco and was told i would be contact by a representative within 24 hours but i have not heard from them. *jb |
