Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Car accelerates when gas pedal is not pushed down. i have been noticing that at time the transmission in my 06 acura tl has been shifting (car accelerates) for a second or two, after you have removed your foot from the gas pedal. the car sort of "jerks" forward. sometimes the "jerk" motion occurs when accelerating at low speeds. last night, on my way home from work i was on a road that slopes downward at around 30 degrees. i have had the problem where the car accelerated after i had taken my foot off the gas pedal. as a test, i didn't accelerate at all on this downward sloping road, and let the car coast. the transmission engaged anyway, and the car accelerated (sort of "jerked" forward) for a few seconds. it was very scary. something is wrong here, and this could cause an accident. i have already been on the phone with acura twice already about this transmission. they record the concern, but promise no action. i have gone to 2 different acura dealerships about this, and both state they are aware of the problem. *nm |
