Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Re: dc e17 "safety recall to install out-of-park alarm system" this recall is an unacceptable resolution. it does not provide a fix to the lack of 2003-2005 dodge ram trucks to properly engage automatic transmission gear selections. the recall is being refused by myself and many others in the rv and towing community. activating an alarm if the vehicle is not fully in park and the engine running is going to do little to prevent accidents and/or personal injury. it is an annoying and obtrusive "feature" that drivers are over-riding anyway using faux seat-belt latches and jumper wires. the nhtsa should endeavor dc to fix the shifter engagement problem, not provide a band-aid to a poorly designed shifter mechanism. *nm
