Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Since purchasing the car in december 2004, i have experienced three instances where, while coming to a stop at an intersection, the car seemed to accelerate on its own with my foot off the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal depressed; to stop the forward motion of the car, it was necessary to shift the transmission into neutral. after shifting back and forth between neutral and drive several times, with the brake heavily depressed, engine speed eventually resumed its normal level. in all three cases, the car was on a declining surface with the front pointing downwards. now, whenever i come to a stop, i keep my hand on the shift lever ready to slam it forward into neutral, just in case. i have reported all three instances to infiniti and had them inspect the car after the second incident. as expected, they found nothing and did nothing. *nm |
