| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The abs system on my 1999 gmc yukon is exhibiting brake release at low speed. it can be described exactly as in nhtsa campaign id number 05v379000. the gm dealer said this vehicle has the same brake hardware as the 2000 model yukon which has been recalled, however, my vehicle has not been recalled. the recall should be expanded to include those 1999 year yukons such as mine. i sometimes have to really push hard to get the vehicle stopped while the abs system is releasing brake pressure. i am familiar with abs design, since i was at one time the manager of the gm abs project and personally designed brake pressure release valves. i should not have to pay to have this safety defect corrected. *jb |
