| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: While on my way home from work at 2 am, i started to hear a loud "clunking" noise from the engine compartment on my 1999 chrysler concorde. i was on the highway, and the car rapidly decelerated to 25 mph. i managed to pull off into a rest stop, but didn't even make it into a parking spot before the engine quit. i found it amazing, since we just got the car back after $1600.00 in repairs four months ago. now, my mechanic is telling me that chrysler only made these engines to last for up to 5 years at the most, and he's not surprised. well, i am. a vehicle should last more than 5 years. now the only option the mechanic tells me i have is to purchase a whole new engine and replace the old one. *jb |
