Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The rear cog disintegrated while riding at normal highway speeds (65 mph). fortunately i as the driver was not injured, however the buell sustained extensive damage in the rear section due to the failure of the rear cog. the plastics, rear indicator lamps, rear wheel and frame were damaged beyond repair. after extensive discussion with the buell corp. they made the decision to repair the motorcycle as there had already been a recall on this model (2000 buell blast) and it had supposedly been satisfied in 2001 by one of their dealerships. as a side note at the time of the incident the vehicle only had 3200 miles on it. *nm |
