Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Safety recall notice concerning the chevrolet hd2500 silverado loading of passenger and bed weight of the vehicle. a notice and door jam sticker was supplied by gm to correct the capacity of the vehicle by approximately 300 pounds due to tire selection and/or rims. i am not satisfied with the recall and wish to know more about the recall. on the letterhead, it is noted that this is a "safety recall notice" as opposed to a mis-labeling of the vehicle from the factory. vin number of the 2006 silverado is [xxx]. i believe that gm should step up and offer the customer an explanation for the recall and instead of reducing the weight capacity of the vehicle in lieu of actually fixing the problem, either by replacing the tires and/or rims. i have contacted gm and the representative would not share anymore information that what was stated in the recall notice. he recorded the phone call and said it will be sent to the "dissatisfied" customer internally with gm. i don't expect to receive a call due to legal reasons. *nm updated 07/16/2012 *js information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)
