| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle fuel pump failed. the vehicle would not start after sitting for several hours. an independent repair shop mechanic inspected the vehicle and banged on the fuel pump to restart the vehicle, it was then driven to the repair shop for a fuel pump replacement. there is a nhtsa recall, # 05v155000, regarding the fuel system, fuel pump. the model year was not included in the recall. updated 05/30/06 prior to this failure the fuel gauge had been giving erroneous readings for about 2 months. on inspection of the fuel pump, the wire coating was found to be melted near connection. *tt |
