| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I was going for a day ride rolled out the bike did a once over and warm up. upon departure i was approximately 1//4 mi. away traveling at 35 mph. and the oil light came on. i was able to shut down in a quick and safe manner. initial inspection showed oil level at proper level. further inspection indicated _oil pump failure_. at present kawasaki has agreed to replace the oil pump, seals rings etc. they are aware of this problem yet opt to wait tell failure occurs. as a caution not all kawasaki authorized dealers will mention this design issue. they would rather take the money and run. kawasaki needs to step up and issue a recall before someone gets hurt. repair cost est.$1207.00 labor plus parts. that's a lot of money to pay out due to a mfg. problem. *nm |
