Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle was purchased two weeks ago and the transmission failed. the transmission began to make a banging noise while driving at 50 mph. when the vehicle was moved off the road and placed into park, the gear position indicator shifted out of park . however, the vehicle would not move in either direction. the dealership was contacted, and they determined the transmission needed to be replaced. according to the contact this transmission was notorious for its high rate of failure and poor quality. the contact felt the seller knew about these problems and failed to solve them. the consumer checked the internet and discovered there were over 1,000 irate people who had similar transmission problems. the manufacturer should acknowledge the problem and issue a recall. updated on 05/30/2006. *ak |
