Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Noticed exhaust was coming into cabin of car shortly after purchasing it brand new form dealership while driving, in park or at a traffic stop sign. contacted dealership was advised by service manager that the smell was the coating on the exhaust used for anti corrosion purpose. several months later took car into dealer ship, advised that i had exhaust coming into my car, dealership concurred and replaced exhaust system from exhaust manifold back to the muffler. purchased carbon monoxide detector for car to verify that exhaust was coming into car w/carbon monoxide. detector was reading at 25 ppm (parts per million) took car back again, still getting smell 2 weeks later. dealer could not duplicate problem. took it in again still getting exhaust in car ( inconsistently) does not duplicate this action every day. dealer could not duplicate issue, wrote letter to toyota mfg. on this issue as of late no action yet. *jb |
