Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The car has had difficulties starting and stalled out numerous times while driving. this is an extremely dangerous condition and can cause an accident. this exact problem was highlighted in a recall by american honda for 1997-2000 honda accords dated may 23, 2002. they suggested in the recall that the ignition switch should be replaced. i took the vehicle to honda and was told that the vehicle's vin [xxx] did not fall within the category of this recall that affected over 1.3 million cars. my problem is the exact issue that is outlined in the recall notice. i spoke to american honda and they set up a case [xxx]. they would not cover the cost of the repair even though this is a manufacturing defect that can cause serious injuries or death if the car stalls. as indicated this car has already stalled numerous times. i request that you require american honda to cover the repairs of this issue. *jb updated 07/16/2012 *js information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) |
