Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: My supplemental restraint system (srs) warning light went on. this is serious because when the light is on, honda told me, that the airbags are disengaged. i took the 2006 honda accord sedan v6 to the dealer. the service department told me that there was a service bulletin out on this problem, 02-077 dated dec 17, 2002. i was told it would take $1600 to fix. i read the service bulletin. it states that this problem is due to static electricity problem in the system. as an electrical engineer this means there is a design problem with this vehicle. even though this is a design problem and the bulletin came out while my car was still under warranty, honda, east coast headquarters, has only offered to cover parts. i believe that this not just my problem and that honda needs to issue a recall due to the safety issues related to a srs light. again, when the srs light is on, airbags will not deploy. *jb |
