Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I am writing to alert you to a dangerous problem with the springs responsible for the reclining mechanism of the seats in the 2005 sedona. we have an lx model with the captains chairs. i had noted previously that the seats would spring forward quite rapidly when there was not a person in the seat and the handle is pulled. the seat backs are quite heavy and fling forward with some force. this force was readily apparent this past thursday (5/11/06). our six-year old daughter was sitting in the chair in a reclined position. she stood up and faced the seat in order to raise the seat to the upright position. when she pulled the handle, the seat flung forward and hit her in the head. she sustained a cut to her right forehead that required a visit to the emergency room and three stitches. she also sustained a bruise to her upper eyelid. luckily, the seat did not hit her eye directly. *nm |
